A HEART OF WORSHIP
Even before I knew what Spirit filled, Spirit breathed worship was, I wanted to love God in that way. Not being brought up in a Pentecostal church as a young child, I clearly remember my first exposures to genuine, Holy Spirit infused worship. And I clearly recall that, although there were elements that I didn’t understand at all, I wanted to be a part of it – wanted to express my heart to the Lord in that way, wanted to really love God the way I saw those believers loving Him. True worship in Spirit and in Truth is transformative, and necessary in the life of a healthy church. As I look over all the elements that Christians include in regular services – I am struck by the fact that, in my way of thinking, all you need to have church services are the three things I’ve just listed – Worship, Prayer and The Word of God. These three make up powerful church services from the poorest missionary settings to the grandest mega-church. And when it comes to regular church services – these three are enough.
