REACHING THE LOST AND MAKING DISCIPLES

It is one of my personal beliefs that the ONLY thing we can do on this earth, that we can’t do better in heaven, is reach the lost who are dying and headed for hell without Jesus. Every other activity (learning to love God more, worshipping Him, maturing in our faith and belief, etc) â€“ all of these could be done better in person, when we are standing before Him and see Him as He is. The only reason we are left here is to influence another person’s eternity. So Jesus used this illustration: If you had one hundred sheep, and one of them strayed away and was lost inthe wilderness, wouldn't you leave the ninety-nine others to go and search for the lost one until you found it? . . . In the same way, heaven will be happier over one lost sinner who returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven't strayed away!  -Luke 15:3, 4 & 7 And it’s not enough to simply bring people to a moment of decision. We must help them plug in and lock in. We must disciple new believers. Anything less is like harvesting grain and leaving it in the fields to rot. We have not done the work of harvesting until the grain is preserved in the bins! This is why Jesus came: For I, the Son of man, have come to seek and to save that which was lost.–Luke 19:10 It is His overriding passion, and therefore must be ours as well.
